Nils Lofgren Loses Guitars in Theft Then Gets Them Back

E Street Band guitarist Nils Lofgren thanked fans for their support after four of his guitars were stolen in Dallas last week, and said that the instruments were “coming back” to him. On March 30, the guitarist -- who's played with Bruce Springsteen since the mid '80s -- said he was “devastated” after the guitars were stolen from a van outside a Holiday Inn Express in the West Oak Cliff area before his appearance at the nearby Kessler Theater. Three Takamine acoustic guitars, a Fender Stratocaster and an electric harp were stolen, so Lofgren had had to rethink his performance. “I’m devastated by this robbery,” he wrote in a tweet. “These are my first shows out after a very difficult year. Please consider a retweet. Alas, the show must go on it won’t be the show I was planning on. However, I do play on taking the roof off.” He followed the message with details of the stolen instruments. “I picked these guitars for this particular tour," he noted. "Solo shows.
